IBM has begun promoting its new technology, IBM Cloud Private (ICP), in Viet Nam after it was introduced in October 2017 and is now being used by 150 customers worldwide.
“IBM’s ICP helps businesses around the globe and across industries to modernise their traditional IT systems while simultaneously uploading new work data into the cloud to support their businesses,” said Andreas Hartl, IBM General Manager for Cloud and Watson at IBM Asia-Pacific.
“The beauty of ICP is its ability to design, develop, deploy and manage, on premises, containerised cloud applications behind your firewall. Those are the capabilities you need for this new era of business transformation,” he added.
The market for ICP is growing 17 per cent per year in Asia, and its market volume is estimated at US$11 billion, he further added.
In Viet Nam, Five9 is IBM’s first partner to adopt ICP. “With our own private cloud, Five9 now has complete control over its dedicated data centre. We are now in charge of monitoring and maintaining our data, as well as controlling performance,” said Nguyen Trong Huan, chairman of Five9.
“The platform’s multilevel security, which covers hardware, network and data storage, gives us peace of mind, and because the cloud is behind the same firewall on Five9’s intranet, we now have much faster data transfer rates,” he added.
“Through this solution, we are able to quickly analyse massive amounts of data and build machine learning into applications, which will help our clients learn as they are used to. The ability to integrate what is offered by the private and public clouds in terms of analytics, application development and modernisation, as well as the speed and flexibility that its offers, will help Five9 advance even further into the new era,” Huan said in conclusion. — VNS
