HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Vietnamese security firm Bkav released its latest round of security products for computer and mobile phone users on Tuesday in Ha Noi.
The 2014 version of anti-virus software offers Anti Leak to protect users from being secretly recorded via their webcams and features new technology that protects bank and credit card information. The software also aims to prevent users from downloading viruses and targets fake anti-virus software.
Vu Ngoc Son, vice director of research and development, said: "Computer viruses have brought more concerns for us these days. From the beginning of 2013 until now, we have collected 237 million new viruses while our customer care division has addressed more than 5.1 million emails and 2 million phone calls relating to viruses."
Customers can update old versions of Bkav anti-virus software from November 26, while internet users will be offered free sign-ups to the software.
Expanding its presence in mobile phone security, the company also released the Safe Box to allow users to store sensitive information and the Smart Filter to block spam messages. A new Smart Scan will also help protect users by detecting account-hacking viruses.
