Việt Nam’s first International Textile Printing Technology and Equipment Exhibition (ITCPE - VIETNAM TEXPRINT 2023) opened in Thủ Dầu Một City in Bình Dương Province on Thursday.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Nguyễn Thế Hùng, Deputy Chairman of the Việt Nam Textile and Apparel Association, said garment and textile, one of the country’s key industries, has been facing difficulties, causing exports to fall by 16.4 per cent in the first eight months of this year to US$26.2 billion.
“The domestic supporting industry has not kept pace with the development of the garment and textile industry. Weaving, dyeing, printing and fabric production are bottlenecks in the supply chain.
“Therefore, the industry is calling for investment in these segments to gradually meet its raw material demands, with priority given to dyeing and printing projects that use advanced technologies and do not cause negative impacts on the environment.”
The exhibition has 200 booths showcasing the most advanced products and technologies for printing and embroidery, clothes outsourcing and fabric production; textile products; and raw materials.
"It is a good opportunity for Vietnamese companies to access advanced technologies and enhance co-operation with potential partners in the supply chain," Hùng added.
The event is expected to attract a large number of trade visitors from Bình Dương, home to many industrial parks with a large number of garment and textile firms, and HCM City and surrounding provinces of Đồng Nai, Bình Phước and Tây Ninh.
It will also include seminars on digital transformation and sustainability in printing, label printing technologies, anti-fake solutions for the textile industry, customised fabric printing solutions, among others, and tours to industrial parks and export processing zones in Bình Dương, HCM City, Đồng Nai, Bình Phước and Tây Ninh.
The three-day exhibition is organised by the Việt Nam Advertisement and Fair Exhibition JSC and Allallinfo Media Viet Nam Co Ltd - Hongkong Allallinfo Media Group Ltd. — VNS
