VNA faced fierce competition in 2015

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — National carrier Vietnam Airlines (VNA) will reportedly earn an revenue of more than 58.3 million euros in Germany this year.

The information was released at a customer agents' conference in Berlin recently.

Head of the Vietnam Airlines branch Ngo Tri Hung said 2015 was a challenging year for the firm as it faced disadvantages on euro-American dollar exchange rate, fierce competitiveness among airlines, unstable politics in the Middle East and the danger of terrorism.

Despite such challenges, Hung said the firm tried its best to improve its service quality and marketing as well to operate about 400 flights with 86 per cent full occupancy.

The firm received ideas from its agents attending the conference on improving service quality.

The firm also auctioned a return ticket worth 3,000 euros and collected more than 5,000 euros from individuals and organisations to sponsor the soldiers and guards who protect Viet Nam's islands and sea. — VNS
