MOSCOW (Biz Hub)  – A conference of Vietnamese businessmen operating across the world opened in Moscow, Russia, on November 11 in a bid to promote investment by overseas Vietnamese people in Viet Nam.

The event, organised by the State Commission on Overseas Vietnamese, the Embassy of Viet Nam in Russia, the Business Association of Overseas Vietnamese and the Bank for Investment and Development of Viet Nam, attracted 200 business representatives from Viet Nam and 100 Vietnamese businessmen operating in Russia and other countries.

At the conference, Vietnamese Ambassador in Russia Nguyen Thanh Son said his embassy would provide the right conditions for improving links among Vietnamese businessmen across the world in doing business and investment.

The embassy would promote co-operation among Vietnamese businessmen abroad to promote Vietnamese goods in Russian and world markets, Son said.

The conference was a chance for businessmen from Viet Nam and across the world to seek new investment and trade opportunities at a time when the global economy is expected to recover in the near future, and Viet Nam has signed many free trade agreements with its partners.

In addition, a Viet Nam - Russia Business Forum is being held on November 12, providing a chance to enterprises from the two countries to seek co-operation opportunities and set up partnerships.

A month-long fair will begin on November 12 in Moscow that will feature more than 10,000 products made by more than 160 Vietnamese businesses operating in the fields of textiles, footwear, farm produce and food, and wood furniture and souvenirs.

During the fair, several workshops will be organised with the aim of promoting links between Russian and Vietnamese firms as well as providing Vietnamese companies experience in accessing and making inroads into the Russian market.

The largest-ever Vietnamese goods fair to be held in Russia, the event is expected to create a push for Viet Nam - Russia trade links, helping the two countries to quickly realise their targets in the field. — VNS
