Twenty Vietnamese enterprises in the fields of machinery, agriculture, foodstuffs, textiles and garments and plastic production participated in a business forum in Wakayama Prefecture in the Kansai region of Japan to seek new co-operation opportunities.
The forum was held as part of the Memorandum of Understanding inked between Viet Nams Ministry of Industry and Trade and Wakayama Prefectures authorities in Tokyo late last year. Le Hoang Tai, Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Agency under the ministry, said the Vietnamese Government considers the Kansai region an important contributor to improve relations between the two nations.
Therefore, it was necessary to provide enterprises in the region, including those from Wakayama, with opportunities to better understand Viet Nam's economic and trade status and its investment environment, and to help businesses from the two sides to meet face to face to seek long-term co-operation, Tai said. — VNS
