VN exports earn $49.7 billion in four months

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Viet Nam exported some US$49.7 billion worth of commodities in the first four months of 2015, a year-on-year increase of 6.9 per cent, according to the General Department of Customs.

Meanwhile, the country's imported goods were worth $51.77 billion, so the country's trade deficit during the period was $2.07 billion.

HCM City led the country in terms of exports during the period, with a total export value of $9.75 billion.

It was followed by the northern province of Bac Ninh and the southern province of Binh Duong with $8.53 billion and $5.18 billion worth of exported goods, respectively.

Ha Noi ranked fifth, with a total export value of $3.5 billion.

Regarding imports, HCM City also topped the country with $8.79 billion worth of imported commodities, followed by Ha Noi with $7.39 billion and Bac Ninh with over $7 billion.

Bac Ninh took the lead in terms of trade surplus during the period, which reached $1.53 billion, followed by Binh Duong and HCM City with trade surplus standing at $1.25 billion and $961 million, respectively.

Meanwhile, Ha Noi topped the country in terms of trade deficit, which reached $3.89 billion. — VNS
