The International Exhibition on Machineries and Technologies of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishery (Vietnam Growtech 2018) opened on Wednesday at the Ha Noi International Exhibition Centre (ICE) in the capital.

The event features 200 booths run by 150 exhibitors from 15 countries and territories, including Belarus, Belgium, Portugal, Canada, the Netherlands, South Korea, Japan, Russia, China, Chile, Indonesia and New Zealand.

Among the exhibitors are leading Vietnamese firms in the industry, particularly Eplusi Technology Co, which provides high-tech solutions for aquaculture and agriculture, like automated watering systems and tractors which have been exported to Israel.

The exhibition aims to create a technological foundation for the production of high-value products in agriculture, forestry, and fishery, said NATEC deputy head Pham Duc Nghiem. It also provides an opportunity for domestic firms to learn from their foreign peers and explore partnerships.

The event also hosts business matching events and provides consultancies for foreign enterprises on local investment policies and intellectual property laws.

A series of seminars are also being held during the exhibition, focusing their discussions on ‘Smart Green – Opportunities and challenges in technology transfer in Viet Nam,’ and ‘Improving the capacity of processing and mechanising agriculture, forestry, and aquaculture.’

It will run through Friday. — VNS
