HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will transport apricot and peach blossoms for the upcoming lunar New Year Festival (Tet) on domestic flights from now until February 17.

A passenger will be allowed to check in with one branch of apricot or peach blossoms, measuring a maximum of 150cmx40cmx40cm as checked baggage.

Transportation fees will cost VND275,000-VND440,000 (US$12.2-$17.8) depending on flight routes.

Passengers must register to transport apricot and peach blossoms at least three hours before departure time.

Earlier, the airline said it will have approximately 800 more flights on domestic and international routes to meet the rising travel demand of passengers during the Tet holiday.

Among routes seeing added flights include those connecting Ha Noi to HCM City, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc and Da Nang; from HCM City to Da Nang, Hai Phong, Vinh, Hue and Nha Trang; from Can Tho, HCM City to Taiwan's Taipei and Kaohsiung and from HCM City to Hong Kong, Japan's Fukuoka and Osaka. — VNS
