Vietnam Airlines will shift the operation of its flights to and from Moscow from Domodedovo Airport to Sheremetyevo Airport as of July 2 this year.
The transfer will make it easier for the carrier to run connecting flights to other Russian and European destinations via the network of airlines already operating at Sheremetyevo Airport.
Vietnam Airlines will change the operating hours of flights between Ha Noi and Moscow to make them more convenient for passengers.
After the move, the flights will take off at 1:10am from Ha Noi and at 2:40pm from Moscow (local time). Departing Viet Nam at night and arriving in the morning, passengers will spend the night on the plane, saving on hotel costs.
The carrier runs a Boeing 787 Dreamliner on the route, maintaining Skytrax 4-star international service.
Vietnam Airlines is currently operating the direct route between Ha Noi and Moscow with a frequency of three flights per week. In 2018, the number of Russian tourists to Viet Nam reached more than 600,000, making Russia the sixth largest source of visitors to the country. According to the General Department of Tourism, the country will welcome one million Russian tourists by 2020. — VNS
