HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has sent representatives to Viet Nam to inspect local shrimp companies to provide a basis for its final determination on the anti-subsidy case against shrimp imports from Viet Nam.

The DOC representatives began their mission in Viet Nam on Monday. They will be in Viet Nam until June 16 to check shrimp companies in Ha Noi, Nha Trang and Ca Mau. In response to the decision, the Viet Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) deemed it unreasonable. According to VASEP, the preliminary determination of the DOC would greatly affect Vietnamese shrimp exports to the US as well as trade between the two countries. — VNS
