Two Japanese companies get preferential customs treatment

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The General Department of Vietnam Customs has granted preferential customs treatment to two Japanese enterprises for a period of three years.

They are Yazaki Hai Phong Vietnam Company Ltd, a subsidiary of Yazaki Corporation, and Hoya Glass Disk Vietnam Company Ltd, a branch of Hoya Corporation.

The two companies will receive preferential customs treatment in export-import operations, in line with Clause 1, Article 2 of Circular 86, which the Ministry of Finance issued in 2013 for enterprises with export-import turnover reaching US$200 million per year.

The department has also extended the preferential treatment granted to Samsung Electronics Vietnam Company Ltd, a subsidiary of South Korean giant Samsung Corporation, to July 20, 2016.

Under the department's programme on priority regime of customs which began in 2011, an estimated 23 enterprises have so far received preferential treatment.

Established in September 2001, Yazaki Hai Phong Vietnam, produces wire harness at its two factories in Hai Phong City and Binh Duong Province. It has its main office in the Nomura Industrial Zone in Hai Phong City's An Duong District and has two branches: one in the Song Tra Industrial Zone in Thai Binh Province, and another in the Dong Mai Industrial Zone in Quang Ninh Province's Quang Yen Town.

Its parent company, Yazaki Corporation, was founded in 1941 and owns 444 factories in 43 countries and territories that employ 250,600 workers.

Hoya Glass Disk Vietnam manufactures glass disks for hard drives and has two factories: one in Ha Noi City's Dong Anh District and the other, in Hung Yen Province's Yen My District. Founded in 1941, Hoya Corporation, the mother company, is a supplier of innovative and indispensable high-technology products created with advanced optics technologies.
