HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Turkey has decided to slap anti-dumping tax on plywood producers from several countries, including Viet Nam, following a tax evasion probe. The tax comes into effect immediately.
As per the decision made by Turkey's Ministry of Economy on October 28, only two Vietnamese plywood export firms co-operated with its agencies during investigations and will not have to pay the anti-dumping tax.
All other businesses will have to pay an anti-dumping tax of US$240 per square meter, the same as that imposed on Chinese products since 2006.
Plywood products have been under inspection since 2010, and investigations began on May 27, 2015.
Turkey's decision was announced by the Ministry of Industry and Trade's Viet Nam Competition Authority and the trade office of the Vietnamese Embassy in Turkey. — VNS
