Tra Vinh targets annual shrimp output of 37,500

TRA VINH (Biz Hub) — Shrimp farmers in the Duyen Hai, Cau Ngang, Tra Cu and Chau Thanh districts of the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta province of Tra Vinh are targeting a total shrimp output of 37,500 tonnes and a VND3.5 trillion (US$166.67 million) revenue in 2015.

They will specifically aim for black-tiger shrimp output of 13,500 tonnes and 24,000 tonnes of white-legged shrimp.

The locality has farmed around 13,000 ha for shrimp thus far this year, mainly in the Duyen Hai and Cau Ngang districts.— VNS
