TIEN GIANG (Biz Hub) — Despite the global economic downturn, southern Tien Giang Province has earned over US$1 billion from exports this year, surpassing its target and seeing a yearly rise of 17 per cent.
This was the first time the province's export values exceeded $1 billion, director of the Tien Giang Department of Industry and Trade Dang Thanh Liem said, adding that such encouraging results would lay an effective foundation for accelerating its exports in the years to come.
In the future, the province would continue to speed up promoting trade, support local firms in expanding their distribution channels in domestic and international markets, and in participating in trade fairs and exhibitions to seek new outlets for business.—VNS
