HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Thailand's biggest retailer Central Group last week opened its first Robins Department Store in HCM City eight months after opening the country's first outlet in Ha Noi.

The four-storey store in Crescent Mall in District 7 measures over 12,000sq.m and stocks thousands of locally made and foreign products.

It had made a soft opening a week before the official opening last Friday.

Viet Nam News found that the store was crowded most of the time even before the formal opening. With promotions involving discounts of up to 50 per cent, many products sold out within two or three days.

At the opening ceremony Robins donated money to two schools in District 7.

Robins Department Store, managed by Robinson Department Store, is the first overseas department store of Central Group in Viet Nam. — VNS
