The Taiwanese International Trade Fair – Taiwan Expo (Taiwan Expo 2018), which opened in HCM City on Thursday offers Vietnamese and Taiwanese companies the opportunities to tie up with each other.

Orgnised by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the expo enables Taiwanese companies to showcase their most advanced technologies and products in healthcare, e-commerce, tourism, smart life, and others.

It has attracted 190 companies who have set up 250 booths.

Of the brands present at the expo, some 35 have won the Taiwan Excellence Award.

They are on display at the Taiwan Excellence Experiencing Zone and include FECA, Vinaera, Tokuyo, Johnson, Carol, Transcend.

In the zone, visitors can try out products that integrate multiple cutting-edge technologies spanning various categories like information and communication technology (ICT), home appliances, sports and healthcare equipment, and transportation .

Walter M.S.Yeh, president and CEO of TAITRA, said: “One thing that cannot be denied is that the Vietnamese market has been offering tremendous opportunities to Taiwanese businesses. This was proved at the previous Taiwan Expo in 2017.

“The difference at this year’s Expo, specifically the Taiwan Excellence Experience Zone, is that we are introducing more household appliances that are integrated with the latest technologies.

“We hope to draw more attention from Vietnamese consumers to help them actualise the desire to enhance their living quality in the easiest manner.”

Taiwan Expo was first organised last year in Indonesia, Viet Nam, the Philippines, and Malaysia.

Last year the expo in Viet Nam attracted 24,000 visitors and companies and saw many business deals being signed.

The expo, at the Sai Gon Exhibition and Convention Centre in District 7, will go on until Saturday.
