South Korea plans to open a Consulate Office in central Da Nang city to boost tourism and investment.
The South Korean Ambassador to Viet Nam, Lee Hyuk, announced this at a meeting with the city’s leaders during a recent working visit to Da Nang .
Korean tourists are the second largest segment of foreign tourist arrivals to Da Nang. More than 430,000 arrived last year, nearly 20 per cent of total foreign travellers.
At the same time, Korean investors poured US$244 million into 83 projects, the fourth biggest foreign investment in Da Nang.
Both Vietnamese and Korean budget airlines have operated daily flights between Korean cities and Da Nang since 2014. — VNS
