The latest technologies, equipment and products in the printing and packaging industry are on display at the 17th Viet Nam International Printing and Packaging Industry Exhibition that opened in HCM City on October 5.

Vietnam Print Pack 2017 has attracted 300 exhibitors from 11 countries and territories, including Canada, Hong Kong, India, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan, and China.

At the four-day exhibition, trade visitors can see the best printing machinery and accessories, inks, printing materials and supplements, knives, cutting disks, scorers, packaging machinery, raw materials and auxiliaries, and dosing, coding and marking systems.

There will be several seminars on quality management and effective application of modern technology in printing.

Nguyen Van Dong, chairman of the Việt Nam Printing Association, said the packaging and printing sector in Việt Nam has enjoyed good growth in recent years, thanks to high demand from processors and exporters, especially of foods.

With the global printing industry entering Industry 4.0, and advanced technologies being adopted in the field, Vietnamese firms should also upgrade their technologies to improve their competitiveness, he said.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Pham Xuan Da, head of the Ministry of Science and Technology’s southern office, said the exhibition offers a good platform for local and foreign firms to exchange information and collaborate.

It also provides local firms with an opportunity to update their technologies, he said.

Organised by the Viet Nam National Trade Fair and Advertising Company (Vinexad) and Yorkers Trade and Marketing Service Co., Ltd., the exhibition at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre is expected to attract over 15,000 buyers. — VNS
