BINH DINH (Biz Hub) — Quy Nhon, a coastal city in this central province, will become one of Viet Nam's sea economy centres and a core city of the country's central region by 2035.

The city will focus on developing industries, seaports, services and tourism.

The information is mentioned in the city's plan to build Quy Nhon and adjacent areas by 2035 with a vision towards 2050 that has recently been approved by the prime minister.

The total scale of planning covers an area of nearly 67,800 hectares, with more than 28,500 hectares for the city. It borders Binh Dinh Province's Phu Cat District in the north, Binh Dinh Province's An Nhon Town in the west, Phu Yen Province's Song Cau Town in the south and the East Sea.

By 2050, Quy Nhon will not just be the national, political and administrative centre but also the economic, cultural and scientific centre of Binh Dinh Province. The city will have an important position in a system of national cities and in the Southeast Asian region. It will become one of the national sea economies in the central region, south central coast and the Central Highlands.

The city is expected to attract huge investment and develop international co-operative relations in health, education and tourism in addition to environment, scientific research and high-quality human resources development.

The city and its adjacent areas will develop following the multi-centre model with two major areas, Quy Nhon City and Nhon Hoi Economic Zone. Urban areas will have open structure, connected to each other by a system of regional transportation. — VNS
