More than 250 domestic and foreign firms from various countries and territories are participating in the Viet Nam International Industry Fair 2018 (VIIF 2018) which opened its doors on Tuesday in the capital.
Among these exhibitors include businesses from Italy, Russia, South Korea, Japan, India, mainland China and Taiwan, according to the event’s organiser, the Viet Nam Exhibition Fair Centre (VEFAC).
Products using advanced technology are being showcased at VIIF 2018 to facilitate businesses’ access to technology towards sustainable industrial development, representative from VEFAC Ly Hoa Lien said.
The 6,000sq.m fair will also offer opportunities for Vietnamese firms to meet with international partners and exchange technologies, as well as enhance co-operation and expand trade, Lien said.
During the country’s industrialisation, modernisation and international integration, domestic firms, especially those in the industrial sector, would need to take the initiative in grasping export opportunities in a competitive market, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Khanh Hai said.
Hai described the event as a bridge to help businesses promote trade, increase investment and contribute to speeding up the development of the domestic industrial sector.
Visitors will be able to access modern tools and equipment in precise mechanics, automation, and supporting industry, among others.
A series of business matching programmes will be arranged at the event, which aim to bolster trade connections between Vietnamese and international entrepreneurs.
The fair will run through Friday at the Ha Noi International Exhibition Centre. — VNS
