Doctors provide health checks to people in Tan Thanh and Tan Thuan communes in the south-central province of Binh Thuan.

More than 600 disadvantaged people in Tan Thanh and Tan Thuan communes in the south-central province of Binh Thuan got free health checks last week.

It was done under a programme called ‘Joint hand for community health’ organised by property developer NovaGroup, Military Hospital 175, Tien Phong (Vanguard) newspaper, and a number of other organisations.

Over two days, besides the free health checks, local people also received free medicines and gifts.

Some 30 outstanding students received scholarships.

The free health checks were among a number of activities organised by NovaGroup, Military Hospital 175 and other sponsors to support people living in difficult conditions and disadvantaged students to contribute to social security and development.

NovaGroup also handed over a Vietnamese traditional herbal garden to the Tan Thanh Border Guard station.

Earlier NovaGroup and its affiliate companies joined hands with Binh Thuan Province for a tree-planting programme in 2021-25 as part of initiatives called ‘Green Up Vietnam – Million trees for bright life’ and ‘Action for a bright life’ to clean beaches launched by NovaGroup on the occasion of International Environment Day, June 5.

For years NovaGroup has co-operated with the province for CSR programmes such as ‘Clean water for school’, gifting houses to disadvantaged people and providing scholarship for students to study in Phan Thiet University.
