QUANG NGAI (Biz Hub) — Doosan Heavy Industries Viet Nam shipped 354 tonnes of high-tech boiler components to the Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power plant, marking the first shipment in the Year of the Monkey.
This shipment, sent on February 17, was the 12th of 17 planned shipments that will be required to transport the nearly 35,550 tonnes of made-in -Viet Nam power plant equipment to the Vinh Tan 4 project in Binh Thuan Province. The final shipment is expected to leave at the end of June.
Construction of the Vinh Tan 4 thermal power plant began in 2014. It is a project supported by the Electricity of Viet Nam (EVN) and a consortium comprising EVN and Power Generation Corporation 3, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction (Korea), Mitsubishi Corporation, Pacific Corporation (PAC, Vietnam) and Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 2 of Viet Nam.
The project consists of two 600-MW units, creating a total installed capacity of 1,200 MWs . The annual power output is expected to reach some 7.2 billion kWh. The total investment for the project is more than VND36 trillion (US$1.7 billion). — VNS
