The Ministry of Information and Communications decided to appoint Le Nam Tra, MobiFone’s chairman of the member council, to work at the ministry’s office starting Tuesday.
The announcement was made public on the ministry’s portal on Wednesday. The deputy minister of information and communications Pham Hong Hai will temporary undertake management of the member council.
Trà became the general director of MobiFone on August 13, 2014. The Ministry of Information and Communications appointed him to the chairman’s position on December 31, 2014, replacing his predecessor Mai Văn Bình, who was retired.
Truong Minh Tuan, Minister of Information and Communications, said that he acknowledged the contribution and efforts of MobiFone, as well as Tra, in the context of the fiercely competitive telecommunication market in the country.
The minister also noted that the ministry would soon consolidate the leading positions of MobiFone to boost the corporation’s development in the future. — VNS
