MEXICO (Biz Hub) — Hundreds of Mexican business people last week flocked to a seminar on business and investment opportunities in Viet Nam.

The event was organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in Mexico and the Mexican City Chamber of Commerce, Services, and Tourism (Canaco).

Canaco President Ricardo Navarro Benitez spoke highly on Viet Nam's high economic growth rate, saying that the Southeast Asian country offered a chance for Mexico to seek new markets for Mexican products.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico Le Thanh Tung said two-way trade between Viet Nam and Mexico, which hit US$1.2 billion in 2012, was still modest compared to Viet Nam's total foreign trade turnover of $230 billion.

He said Viet Nam would create favourable conditions for the two sides to co-operate.-VNS
