DA NANG (Biz Hub) — Transforwarding Warehousing Joint-Stock Corp, or Transimex-Sai Gon, began construction of a logistics centre in Hoa Cam Industrial Zone (IZ) with a total investment of VND50 billion (US$2.4 million).

The centre, which covers an area of 16,000 square metres (sq.m), will include 9,300sq.m general warehouse with an automatic cargo forklift and loading system.

As per the schedule, the logistics centre will begin operations in August.

The 137 hectares IZ, southwest of the city, has attracted 55 businesses with an 81 per cent filling up rate.

It also connects the East-West Economic Corridor, which links Myanmar, Thailand, Laos and Viet Nam.

The central city plans to get a boost as a centre of hi-tech industries, logistics service and tourism in central Viet Nam.
