KiteAir airline project submitted to Prime Minister

Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung has submitted a new airline project to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc for approval.

TheKiteAir airline project, owned by Thien Minh Group, has an investment capital of VND5.5 trillion (US$238 million).

KiteAir will operate six ATR72 aircraft. From the third year of operations, the airline will add A320 and A321 aircraft to its fleet. It’s expected to have 25 aircraft in the sixth year of operation.

If the project is approved by the Prime Minister, KiteAir will complete procedures to begin operation in the second quarter of this year.

According to the preliminary assessment of the project proposal, after being put into operation, the project is expected to contribute about $430 million for airport services in the first five years of operation, about VND800 billion to the State budget and create nearly 300 jobs in 2020, which will increase to more than 1,300 employees in the first five years. – VNS
