FPT Software (F-Soft) Da Nang has commenced construction of key infrastructure projects in the Information Technology (IT) Service Centre F-Complex in the central-city, after a two-year delay caused by the COVID-19.

Chairman of F-Soft, Nguyen Tuan Phuong spoke at the ground-breaking ceremony for the third phase of the apartment (FPT Plaza 3), the second phase of the FPT education (FPT school), a Data Centre (FPT Telecom) and public space of the FPT City, which will enter full operation in the first quarter of 2024.

Phuong said the infrastructure items would reserve working space and living accommodation for at least 10,000 employees, experts, and 80,000 families.

He said a series of apartments and Information Technology (IT) infrastructure projects would help boost F-Soft Da Nang as a leading software exporter and end-to-end digital transformation service supplier in central Viet Nam in the coming decades.

Phuong also said the full operation of the F-Complex would help create revenue of VND3.5 trillion (US$152 million) by 2024.

F-Soft Da Nang, which has been rooted in the central city since 2005, has been rapidly developing its potential in IT, including low-code, intelligent automation, artificial intelligence and akaCam (a face identification app).

The Information Technology (IT) Service Centre, or F-Complex, had been allocated VND6.7 trillion (US$291 million) for the 2021-23 investment phase, to boost the service for the digitalisation process in Da Nang.

It had completed the first phase of investment with $23 million in the 5.9ha FPT Complex, Phuong said.

F-Soft, which earned a revenue of $53.4 million in 2020, of which 96 per cent was from software exports, has been seeking exports to South Korea and the Middle East after two key markets of Japan and the US.

About 3,200 IT staff – eight per cent of the city’s IT industry workforce – are employed by F-Soft.

A recent report of the city’s information technology and communications department revealed that the IT industry created a revenue of $1.3 billion.

The top leading industry in Da Nang created 40,000 jobs, of which 50 per cent are in software development. — VNS
