HAI PHONG (Biz Hub) — The Hai Phong Customs Department in the northern port city of Hai Phong completed the connection of all its sub-offices to the national automated customs system on Friday.

It is the first, among the country's 34 customs departments, to have put into use the Viet Nam Automated Cargo and Port Consolidated System/Viet Nam Customs Information System (VNACCS/VCIS) at all of its sub-offices.

According to the department, the system is working smoothly in Hai Phong, since it became operational on April 1. After a three-month trial period, beginning November 15, 2013, up to 18,196 enterprises nationwide have registered to join the system, and 10,154 have used it on a trial basis.
