Ha Noi CPI rises 0.12% in October

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The capital city's consumer price index (CPI) in October showed an increase of 0.12 per cent over the previous month and a year-on-year rise of 0.42 per cent.

According to the Ha Noi Statistics Office, 10 groups of commodities saw their prices rise, with the highest increase of 0.3 per cent in products of apparel, hat and footwear due to the change of season.

The food category increased 0.28 per cent because of the rising prices of vegetables, seafood and pork.

The category of housing, electricity, and water, in addition to fuel and building materials, saw a 0.08 per cent rise due to higher prices of gas and water.

Two adjustments to petrol prices brought a 0.18 per cent increase in the price of transport services compared to the previous month and the category of restaurant and catering services climbed 0.09 per cent.

Only rice had a 0.68 per cent price reduction compared to September due to abundant supply, inventory and decline in exports.

The Ha Noi Statistics Office also reported that the capital city's industrial production index rose by 3.8 per cent in October over the previous month and 8.8 per cent year-on-year. The index for the past 10 months increased 7.8 per cent compared to the same period last year.

Ha Noi's export value in October was estimated to reach around US$1 billion, a 4 per cent rise over the previous month and a 6.7 per cent year-on-year increase while the export value in the past ten months was estimated at $9.2 billion, a 1.5 per cent year-on-year rise.

The import value in October was estimated at $2.34 billion, a 1.2 per cent rise over September and a 9.2 per cent year-on year increase. The estimated import value in the past ten months reached $21 billion, a 5.3 per cent year-on-year rise. — VNS
