HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Ha Noi People's Committee approved a detailed plan for the Hoa Lam Vien high-tech eco-agricultural zone in the Mai Lam commune of Dong Anh district on December 24.

The map, drawn with a 1:500 scale, reveals that the zone will spread over an area of 96ha and will be divided into 39 land plots. The zone is located near River Duong.

The application of advanced technologies in agricultural production, including the use of machinery, improves farming productivity and is vital for the development of agriculture. Meanwhile, ecological agriculture helps to protect the environment, reduces dependence on imported goods and satisfies the increasing demand of residents for high quality and organic farm produce.

The Hoa Lam Vien zone is expected to meet the city's demand for development in the modern agricultural sector. Training in advanced farming practices and technology will be provided to farmers and managing authorities to help industrialise and modernise the agricultural sector.

The approved detailed plan is part of the master plan for developing the city's agricultural sector by 2020, with a long-term vision for 2030, which was approved by the Ha Noi People's Committee in 2012. The master plan aims to develop the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector to improve its productivity, quality, competitiveness and sustainability.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will submit the detailed plan to the prime minister for final approval. — VNS
