Food and hotel expo opens in HCM City

More than 460 exhibitors from 36 countries and territories are showcasing their products, technologies and solutions for the hospitality and food services industry at the Food & Hotel Vietnam that opened yesterday in HCM City. A wide range of food and drinks, dairy products, meat and poultry, confectionery making equipment, catering services, vending machines and services, from renowned local and international brands are on display. More than 460 exhibitors from 36 countries and territories are showcasing their products, technologies and solutions for the hospitality and food services industry at the Food & Hotel Vietnam that opened on Wednesday in HCM City.

At the 10th edition of the International Food & Drinks, Bakery, Hotel, Foodservice Equipment, Supplies and Services Exhibition is a wide range of food and drinks, dairy products, meat and poultry, confectionery making equipment, bar and coffee services, catering services, vending machines and services, and cleaning and housekeeping services from renowned local and international brands.

There are 22 international group pavilions from countries such as Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Poland, the Netherlands, Russia, Australia, the US, Singapore and France.

The most outstanding stall at the Irish pavilion is Bord Bia, which has a number of products made from beef, pork and organic fruits.

The Polish pavilion, organised by the National Support Centre for Agriculture, or KOWR, has a number of agricultural products from the European country.

The Russian pavilion has brands like Altai Group, Primorsk, Omsk and Voronezh.

There are many exciting activities at the exhibition like the Vietnam Culinary Challenge, the Vietnam Hospitality Managing Director Forum and barista training workshops.

The Vietnam Culinary Challenge organised by Saigon Chefs Professional has attracted more than 150 culinary enthusiasts from various countries.

In the three-day competition, participants will have to make hot Asian and European dishes and sweets and carve vegetables.

The SCA Barita Skill Foundation will teach trainees international standard bartending skills through lecturers certified by the Specialty Coffee Association.

The Barista & Coffee Experience Programme designed for amateurs and beginners will offer courses in brewing coffee and tips on how to make a standard espresso and others.

The event, on at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Centre, closes on Friday. — VNS
