HA NOI (VNS) — Enterprises face a VND1 billion (nearly US$48,000) fine for illegally releasing more than 3,000 cubic metres of waste water into water sources in one day, proposed the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
Disposing of smaller amounts will result in penalties of VND700 million ($33,000) to VND900 million ($43,000).
Businesses are also supposed to carry out measures to address the pollution they caused. If they do not do so, they will be fined from VND400-500 million ($19,000-24,000). — VNS
