Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan has asked the Authority of Broadcasting and Electronic Information to coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies to punish cases in which Vietnamese enterprises’ advertisements with inappropriate content featured in YouTube videos.
The Authority of Broadcasting and Electronic Information recently found clips advertising Vietnamese brands inserted into videos on YouTube, which had content that violated the country’s law.
In a Monday meeting, a representative of the authority said the agency conducted the management and removal of inappropriate content on Google and YouTube following the direction of the minister right after the violations were detected.
The authority has also worked with cross-border service providers, including Facebook, Google and YouTube, to require businesses to strictly comply with regulations on providing information on the Internet in accordance with guidelines in Circular 38 of the ministry on cross-border information management.
In addition, Viet Nam Internet Network Information Centre has also supported the authority in managing domain names to determine sites operating illegally or not having the required licence. — VNS
