HA NOI — Doosan Heavy Industries Viet Nam (Doosan Vina) on Tuesday provided four 4,400 tonne multistage flash desalination evaporators, which will be part of a multibillion dollar power and water project near the Saudi Arabian city of Yanbu.
The evaporators would be built in Viet Nam and the four "plug-and-play" units as large as a football pitch each would produce enough water to meet the needs of some 1.2 million people.
They would be shipped intact from the company's factory in Dung Quat Economic Zone in 2014 to Yanbu, said the company.
Earlier this year Doosan Vina completed and shipped three similar evaporation plants to the Ras Al Khair desalination project in Eastern Saudi Arabia.— VNS
