The US-based aviation firm Universal Alloy Corporation (UAC) has put its Da Nang facility into operation. The factory will be a sole-source supplier producing over unique 5,000 aerospace components for Boeing aircraft.
Commenced in March 2019, the factory spans an area of 16.7ha with a design capacity of 12,470 tonnes of metric systems per year
According to the firm, phase 1 of the Sunshine Aerospace Components Factory with a total investment of US$170 million in the Da Nang High-Tech Park, will produce aerospace components to export to the global industry.
On March 30, Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Zones Authority (DHPIZA) said the factory’s products will be exported to European, Malaysian and North American markets with the export value of $25 million by 2021 and $82 million by 2022.
Phase 2 of the project is expected to be completed in April 2020 when the plan will expand the production of both aviation parts and raw materials. By 2026, UAC Viet Nam targets to have an export value of more than $180 million.
Established in 1961 in the US, UAC is a leading global manufacturer of aircraft components for aerospace companies such as Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, Bombardier, and their associated supply chains. — VNS
