The Da Nang International Airport continues to hold the first position in Viet Nam in terms of providing the best service quality, according to a survey of nearly 21,000 passengers in the fourth quarter of 2017.

The survey, conducted by the Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam (CAAV) at Viet Nam’s three largest international airports of Noi Bai (Ha Noi), Tan Son Nhat (HCM City) and Da Nang (Da Nang City), found that Da Nang Airport topped the list with a score of 4.19 points, followed by Noi Bai with 4.13 and Tan Son Nhat with 3.96.

The survey evaluated passengers’ satisfaction with the attitude of the check-in staff, wifi quality, departure terminal area, way-finding and sign guidelines, and taxi availability and prices, among other criteria.

The survey revealed that the attitude of check-in officials at the three airports was ranked first with 4.34 points, but the wifi quality at the departure terminal area and the waiting lounge were less well-regarded with 3.72 points and 3.73 points, respectively.

According to the CAAV, Vietnamese airlines conducted over 150,000 flights in the first six months of 2018, a year-on-year rise of 9 per cent. They served 35.4 million passengers in the period, up 16.8 percent.

Seventy-one foreign airlines from 28 countries and territories and three Vietnamese airlines, namely Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air and Jetstar Pacific, are operating over 140 regular international routes and charter flights from/to Ha Noi, HCM City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Hai Phong, Da Lat, Can Tho and Dong Hoi.

In the domestic market, Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Jetstar Pacific and Vasco are operating 47 routes connecting Ha Noi, Da Nang and HCM City with 18 local airports.

In the first half of the year, Vietnamese airlines conducted more than 150,000 flights, up 19 per cent against the same period last year. The number of on-time flights was 129,000, accounting for 86.1 per cent. — VNS
