PHU THO (Biz Hub) — French supermarket chain Big C yesterday opened a new outlet in Viet Tri City, Phu Tho Province, as it moves to expand its distribution network to 24 supermarkets in Viet Nam.
Big C Viet Tri cost about VND340 billion (US$16.2 million) and covers an area of 30,000 sq. metres.
The 4,250 sq.m supermarket stocks about 40,000 varieties of merchandise ranging from food and household utensils to cosmetics, with 95 per cent of them locally made. The retail space will be leased to over 30 stalls focusing on fashion, catering and entertainment services. The facility will employ 500 local labourers. — VNS
