HA NOI (Biz Hub) – The Building and Infrastructure Development of Vietnam Joint Stock Company (BID) yesterday signed a co-operation agreement with Japan Construction Management Corporation (JCM) and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Việt Nam Limited in Ha Noi.

Under the memorandum of understanding between BID and JCM, the Japanese company would provide consultancy on investment, project management, and quality supervision for all BID projects. Especially, JCM would help BID improve and upgrade management by sending high-ranking construction specialists to BID with the aim to establish a building system that meets international standards.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Tran Van Manh, chairman and general director of BID Viet Nam, hailed JCM's reputation and noted that his company needed the assistance of professional consultants.

Further, JCM's general director, Jun Kawamuro, committed to help BID Viet Nam introduce new ways of thinking to assure success in the future.

BID also signed a consulting services contract with PwC for restructuring. Accordingly, PwC would provide BID with three services, including consultancy for restructuring, administrative supervision and assessment of the abilities of leaders.

"PwC would help BID complete its administration system professionally, effectively and by saving time and cost, thus improving production effectiveness, competitiveness and catching up with new trends in the world," Manh said.

Ramon Chelva, PwC's managing director, said BID Viet Nam would be one of the few construction companies operating with a Balance Score Card in its operation.

"This shows that BID Viet Nam has a clear desire to become not only a strong brand in the market, but also one of the leading real estate companies in Viet Nam," he added.

Specialising in civil construction, industry, technical infrastructure, housing investment and development and property trading, BID Viet Nam has been involved in several projects, including CT Number 1 in Hoai Duc District, AZ Sky complex in Hoang Mai District, The Garden Hill, BID Tower in Thanh Xuan District, along with building apartment buildings for the education and training sector in HCM City.

Starting operations in Viet Nam in 2010, JCM has created a network of companies throughout ASEAN countries, in which Viet Nam is at the centre, to provide suitable consultancy services for customers in the building, property investment and production sectors.

PwC has been one of the leading groups in the world in providing restructuring consultancy. It has a presence in 157 countries, with more than 195,000 employees. In Asia, PwC SEAPEN operates in Malaysia, Thailand, Viet Nam, Cambodia and Laos, employing more than 3,800 people. -- VNS
