BAC GIANG (Biz Hub) — The northern province of Bac Giang aims to earn US$980 million from garment and textile exports by 2015, according to its master plan for developing the sector.
In the 2014-15 period, Bac Giang's apparel sector targets production value of VND3.65 trillion (US$171.55 million) and annual growth of 18.1 per cent.
The sector hopes to employ over 8,800 new labourers in 2015, raising its total workforce to 50,000.
Under the plan, production value would grow by 15 per cent to VND7.34 trillion in the 2016-2020 period and reach VND11.8 trillion by 2025. Annual export earnings would be $1.97 billion by 2020 and $3.3 billion by 2025. — VNS
