HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Vietnamese beer company Dai Viet will produce a special kind of beer with German technology to mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The German embassy and the Dai Viet Beer Company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) of co-operation for producing the special beer on November 14 in Ha Noi.
The special beer will be produced under the Reinheitsgebot or the German Beer Purity Law, dated 1516, which is the world's oldest food and drink regulation that ensures good-quality cereals are used for brewing beer.
The special beer will be packaged in special cans, carrying a logo symbolising the 40th anniversary of the bilateral relations, which falls next year.
Hans-Jorg Brunner, deputy ambassador-cum-economic counsellor at the German embassy, said that Viet Nam connects with Germany in many areas, including cuisine and the culture of enjoying beer. He expects that more and more Vietnamese people will understand the long-standing bilateral ties through such a product.
He added that they chose Dai Viet beer because it imports most of the raw materials and machines to produce beer from Germany, and the production process is supervised by experienced German brewers who can ensure German standards.
Director of Dai Viet Beer Company Tran Van Sen, who also chairman of the Huong Sen Group which has been chosen to produce the special beer, said that besides the honour, the production of the special beer is also proof of the prestige and the advanced level of beer production his factory has in particular, and of Viet Nam in general.
Son said that Dai Viet is the first company to produce black beer in Viet Nam, adding that he plans to introduce his new red beer in the local market.
