All Nippon Airways introduced the Ha Noi – Haneda flight route in Ha Noi on Monday. The flight would be official launched on March 30, connecting capitals of the two countries. |
After opening the HCM City-Tokyo (Narita Airport) route in 2001, ANA had nurtured the plan to open the Ha Noi route and "now, it has been realised,"Ryoichi Fujisaki, ANA director in Viet Nam, said.
According to ANA, in 2013, the number of Vietnamese arrivals in Japan numbered around 75,000 and the total international arrivals in Japan was estimated at 10 million.
The Government of Japan aims to double the international arrivals in the country by 2020 and the launching of the Ha Noi – Tokyo route would contribute to realising that goal.
ANA expects the number of passengers from Viet Nam to Japan to triple to 200,000 per year with the launching of the route, adding that Viet Nams economy was also recovering, which would help boost the demand for travel.
