HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Mekong Capital, a Viet Nam-focused private equity firm, has won this year's Operational Excellence award from UK magazine Private Equity International in the Asia-Pacific Small Cap category for its successful investment in restaurant chain Golden Gate JSC.
It is the company's third award in as many years.
In September last year Mekong Enterprise Fund II managed by Mekong Capital sold off its stake in Golden Gate, a leading restaurant chain, for a net return multiple of nine times.
"Due to the open-minded and always-inquisitive approach of the founders of Golden Gate, we were able to deploy our full toolbox to directly support them in building the best multi-concept casual dining chain in Viet Nam," Mekong partner Chad Ovel said in a press release issued on Monday.
Mekong Capital manages four funds that invest in well-established companies operating in consumer-driven sectors.
