HA NOI (Biz Hub) — A delegation of 10 German businesses will travel to Viet Nam in October to survey the investment climate here and seek new partners, Cong Thuong (Industry and Trade) Newspaper reports.
During their stay in the country, the firms will attend to two business conferences, to be organised by the Germany Trade & Invest and the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Viet Nam, in Ha Noi on October 13 and in HCM City on October 15.
These businesses from eastern German states are active in various fields such as construction, mechanics, chemicals and agriculture.
The strategic partnership between Viet Nam and Germany has developed strongly in recent years.
Germany is one of the leading trade partners of Viet Nam in the European Union (EU), with bilateral trade reaching nearly eight billion euros (US$8.95 billion) last year and recording an average growth of 15 to 20 per cent over the past five years.
Viet Nam mainly exported mobile phones and spare parts, garments, and textiles, apart from footwear, coffee and seafood to Germany while importing machinery and equipment. — VNS
