HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The K-Food Fair 2015 will be organised from September 11 to 13 in Ha Noi.
It was announced at a conference on September 1 that the fair, being hosted by South Korea's Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and organised by Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation (aT), aimed to promote Korean food among Vietnamese customers.
A business-to-business (B2B) programme will take place on September 11 to boost South Korean agricultural product exports to other countries.
The programme will be attended by 20 Korean food exporters and more than 80 importing firms working in the food sector in Viet Nam and other countries in the ASEAN region.
The products that will be introduced at the B2B programme include traditional products, convenience food, tea and beverages, as well as confectionary and fresh agricultural produce.
The business-to-customer (B2C) event, to be held from September 12 to 13, will be a Korean culinary experience to help more Hanoians become aware of Korean food and culture.
Various food products from not only South Korean exporters but also Korean food businesses in Viet Nam will be showcased at the event.
Programmes such as music and dance performances, contests and cooking competitions will be held to attract the interests of the local people.
This is the third time that the K-Food Fair event has been held in Viet Nam since 2013.
The value of South Korean agricultural product exports to Viet Nam last year was US$450,000, an increase of more than two per cent compared with 2013.
The K-Food Fair 2015 is expected to be held in seven global cities of Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), and Qingdao, Xi'an and Chongqing (China), as well as Ha Noi (Viet Nam), Jakarta (Indonesia) and Dubai (the United Arab Emirates). — VNS
