HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Shares closed slightly higher on the HCM City Stock Exchange this morning, but ended lower on the Ha Noi Exchange.
The VN-Index added 0.2 points or as much as 0.03 per cent to reach 592.44 points due to low liquidity.
A modest 42.5 million shares were exchanged, worth VND661.2 billion (US$31.17 million).
The gain was mainly registered by blue chips with the VN30-Index, which tracks the southern city's largest shares by capitalisation and liquidity, rising by 0.14 per cent to end at 634.45 points.
There were nine gainers and nine losers in the VN30 package.
The shares of Vietinbank (CTG), Eximbank (EIB) and Military Bank (MBB) remained unchanged this morning, while Sacombank (STB) and Vietcombank (VCB) dropped marginally.
On the Ha Noi Exchange, the HNX-Index slid 0.38 per cent to close at 77.98 points, while the HNXFF-Index, comprising stocks with a minimum free float rate of 5 per cent, lost 0.26 per cent to finish at 77.87 points.
The HNX30-Index ended at 155.4 points, 0.11 per cent lower.
With 13.7 million shares changing hands, the total trading value reached a modest VND175 billion ($8.2 million). — VNS
