The southern province of An Giang will represent Viet Nam at the China–ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) in Nanning City, Guangxi Province from September 20-23.
According to deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Trade Promotion Department, Le Hoang Tai, the 16th CAEXPO will take place at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Centre with the participation of high-ranking leaders from China and ASEAN nations and hundreds of distinguished businesses.
One of the main contents of CAEXPO is to introduce ASEAN cities and China with the theme "City of Charm".
An Giang will organise an exhibition booth with the theme "An Giang – Viet Nam’s Rice Bowl" to introduce the province which is developing comprehensively in the direction of modernity and becoming a centre of economy, culture and tourism in the Mekong Delta region. This will promote and introduce the potential, economic strengths and investment co-operation opportunities, as well as the province’s culture, tourism and products to countries in ASEAN and China.
An Giang authorities will hold meetings with foreign leaders and partners to gain access to market information, seek partners, promote investment and raise the competitiveness of An Giang.
Deputy Chairman of An Giang Province Le Van Nung said that An Giang was honoured to be selected by the Ministry of Industry and Trade to represent Viet Nam at the 16th CAEXPO. “This is an opportunity for An Giang to promote and introduce its image and people to ASEAN countries and China in order to seek investment opportunities, expand markets and attract tourists to the province.”
CAEXPO is an important activity held annually by the Chinese Government. CAEXPO has an increasingly prominent role and has become a destination for not only Chinese and ASEAN enterprises but also partners outside the region. Through CAEXPO, many Vietnamese products have built a reputation such as shoes, coffee, confectionery, fruit, rubber, furniture, handicrafts and consumer goods. – VNS
