Young, tech-savvy people prefer AI electronic products


Young people in Vietnam are showing a preference for household electronic products that utilise Artificial Intelligence (AI) and meet the criteria of being affordable and convenient for consumers, said Hồ Xuân Lộc, General Director of Toshiba Vietnam Consumer Products Company Limited.

Young people in Vietnam are showing a preference for household electronic products that utilise Artificial Intelligence (AI) and meet the criteria of being affordable and convenient for consumers, said Hồ Xuân Lộc, General Director of Toshiba Vietnam Consumer Products Company Limited.

Some electronics firms have noted a significant shift in consumption trends in Vietnam following the COVID-19 pandemic. Many customers have been changing their purchasing habits, opting for household electronic products that offer competitive prices and convenience. This is evidenced by the strong sales of consumer electronics products with competitive pricing in the market.

Furthermore, customers are increasingly selecting products that incorporate new technologies such as AI and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Lộc’s company which distribute Italian electronics brand - Comfee, said the Vietnam is a fast-growing market in Southeast Asia. Young people tend to prefer household and electronics products that use AI. Therefore, the company focuses on products that apply AI technology to target the young people.

Comfee launched the Vietnamese market with air conditioner products using AI, allowing users to interact via virtual assistant, easily controlled by Vietnamese voice via Google Assistant.

Users can connect Comfee air conditioners to SmartHome 3.0 and link with virtual assistants to have voice control commands on their mobilephone anytime and anywhere without using a physical remote. People could also monitor power consumption and receive warnings about monthly power consumption on the SmartHome app. With this feature, users could easily control the electricity consumption of the air conditioner.

2023 was a tough year for the overall electronics market, but the air conditioner industry in Vietnam experienced growth, leading to increased demand for the product in the near future. In 2024, the economy is projected to make a strong recovery with increased purchasing power, resulting in significant growth for the air conditioner industry compared to 2023.
