HÀ NỘI — Nestlé Vietnam, in partnership with the Việt Nam Packaging Recycling Alliance (PRO Vietnam), organised a training programme focused on occupational safety and hygiene in waste collection and recycling.
The event attracted nearly a hundred representatives from various organisations within the industry, aiming to raise awareness and improve safety standards.
This initiative is part of Nestlé's ongoing efforts to create a sustainable and responsible supply chain, supporting long-term community development with a focus on people. The programme also highlights Nestlé’s leadership in driving a waste-free future, in collaboration with partners.
Experts shared essential safety and health knowledge, promoting a secure and efficient working environment for waste management workers. The training aims to reduce workplace accidents and improve conditions for those involved in waste collection and recycling.
In addition to safety training, the program covered key updates on legal regulations and international standards, helping companies understand their responsibilities regarding environmental compliance and workers' rights. This ensures organisations in the waste management sector are better equipped to foster a safe, responsible and compliant working culture.
Director of External Affairs and Communications at Nestlé Vietnam, Khuất Quang Hưng, said: “Through this programme, we hope to provide essential knowledge about safety for workers, as well as raise awareness of hazards for collection and recycling units, contributing to protecting the rights as well as ensuring working conditions of workers when participating in waste collection and recycling activities. This is one of our top priorities in our efforts to build a green future."
Managing Director of PRO Vietnam, Nguyễn Gia Huy Chương, emphasised the organisation’s role in improving labour safety and promoting a sustainable recycling ecosystem.
