Construction began on Tuesday on one of HCM City’s largest office building and commercial projects, The Sun Tower, in the Grand Marina, Saigon complex, Marriot’s largest branded residences project anywhere in the world.
Developed by Masterise Homes, The Sun Tower is being built on 6,000sq.m of land in the 25ha Grand Marina, Saigon.
Located in the heart of CBD at the corner of Ton Duc Thang and Nguyen Huu Canh streets, the building is designed to have 55 floors and five basements with a direct link to the Bason station in the city’s metro No 1 route.
“The Sun Tower is expected to be a hub for expats, multinational corporations and global companies and become an exemplary for future grade A office and retail space in Viet Nam,” Jason Turnbull, deputy managing director and chief financial officer of project developer Masterise Homes, said.
The tower is designed to have 106,000sq.m of gross floor area, with 87,000sq.m devoted to grade A office space. When completed next year, The Sun Tower will be one of the largest office and commercial landmarks in HCM City.
Turnbull said, “While Marriot and JW Marriott Residences at Grand Marina, Saigon have won over international buyers and elevated Viet Nam’s position on the global property map, The Sun Tower will play a significant role in developing HCM City into a new centre of commerce and culture in Southeast Asia.”
